Teacher Contract

I am a follower of Christ and adhere to the SCCH statement of faith. I have been in the co-op for one semester or more and am in good standing. I will strive to honor The Lord in my class(es) and abstain from anything contradictory to the essential beliefs as listed in the statement of faith. I will submit my curriculum/ class plan as well as any media I plan to use to SCCH leadership along with this agreement so it can be reviewed prior to the semester.

I understand I am expected to teach all 15 classes and will be prepared for class each week. The last day of co-op (the 16th week) is presentation/potluck day. I understand I will not have class time to teach on that day and will help my students in our class presentation time, if we prepare one.

If, for some reason, I am unable to teach on one of the class dates, I will notify SCCH leaders ASAP and make arrangements with my class helper to lead for that day. If she/he cannot, I will notify SCCH leaders so other arrangements can be made.  If I do not fulfill my commitment to teach the full semester, I will refund all the class supply fees.  I was given for the semester to SCCH.

I agree to treat the property of Glenwood Baptist Church with respect and leave the classrooms as they were before I used them. I will not use any of the church’s supplies, besides their furniture and whiteboards, unless they have given specific instruction otherwise.  If I notice something in the classroom is damaged during class, I will notify the directors before co-op is over that day. If I notice something in the classroom that is potentially harmful, I will notify the directors immediately.

I will try my best to produce a loving, caring learning environment for everyone. I will treat all students with respect. If I am having trouble with behavior issues with any student in my class(es), I understand that I (or my class helper) need to walk them down to the SCCH leader that is on duty at the front desk. If there continues to be repeated behavior issues with a student, the SCCH leadership will speak to the parents and form a plan.

I will be a good steward with the class supply fees I requested and use the supplies wisely. If more supplies are needed than I estimated, I will be responsible for providing them and will not request more money from the directors or families.  If there are remaining class supplies or money remaining after the 16 classes, I will turn into the directors on the last day of co-op classes so they can be utilized the following semester.
